The Besenhorster Sandberge are unique in Schleswig Holstein! This area was formed after the last ice age. Sand was deposited by water run-off, which was then blown up by the wind to form dunes. Even today, they still have a considerable height of up to 20 m! A special feature are the flood troughs, whose water balance depends on the water level of the Elbe. The hiking trail takes you through a dune landscape and a sparse stand of birch, oak and pine trees. It is a wonderful backdrop for taking a break from everyday stress and listening to the birdsong. You can also see the remains of the Düneberg powder factory on a walk, for example with your dog. Experience an exciting and relaxing walk here.
