The Farm Cycle Tour is a new thematic cycle tour in the Duchy of Lauenburg. On a route of about 40 kilometres, cyclists can experience a beautiful landscape - in large areas away from road traffic - and at the same time learn about modern agriculture. At various stations along the cycle path, information boards explain all kinds of interesting facts about different farms.

The tour leads via the bison enclosure in Fredeburg, Schmilau, Althorst, Neuhorst, Sterley, Seedorf, Salem, Farchauer Mühle and back to the starting point.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

The bisons in Fredeburg and the nearby domain with its outstanding farm shop and cheese from its own production are worth seeing. In Schmilau, strawberry and blueberry plantations lie along the way. From here, it is also worth making a detour to Hollenbek to the nature park barn with its exhibits from farming in earlier times. Seedorf is not only home to fresh raspberries. Here, "outdoor pigs" also live happily in their enclosure under the open sky. Kaiser's farm shop and café tempts you to take a break in Salem and the Salem Moor is a very special natural treasure.

Safety guidelines

Between Neu-Horst and Sterley the cycle path runs for about 3km on a Sztaße.
