Ratzeburger Segelschule

The Ratzeburg Sailing School is located directly on the island.

Boat Rentals
The sailing school is situated on the west side of the city island, close to Ratzeburg Cathedral and the youth hostel. Here, you can rent boats by the hour or for several days:

• Open keelboats (Type Centaur)

• Dinghies (Conger and Optimist)

• Canoes

• Kayaks

• Sit-on-top kayaks

• Pedal boats

• SUP boards (stand-up paddling)

On weekends, especially when the weather is nice, boats may be fully booked. To ensure your sailing day doesn’t get canceled, it’s recommended to reserve your boat a few days in advance. (For organizational reasons, reservations are only possible if the boat is picked up by noon.)

You are charged only for the time you actually sail or paddle. The minimum rental period is 2 hours. To rent a sailboat, you must hold a valid sailing license.

Sailing Courses
Courses start on Mondays and end on Fridays after one or two weeks. Evening or weekend courses are also possible if enough participants register. Courses are conducted exclusively in small groups, with each crew assigned their own sailing instructor at the start of the course.

If you already have a sailing license but want to refresh your skills or gain more confidence handling the boat, you can book private lessons.
