Roter Till-Schuh hike

Follow in the footsteps of white gold along the old salt road, now the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, via the old brickworks, through the Pirschbach Valley and the Doktorhof farmstead, back to the historic market square in Mölln.

Mölln – Elbe-Lübeck Canal – Alte Ziegelei – Pirschbach Valley – Doktorhof – Mölln

From the train station, cross the railroad crossing and immediately turn right onto a hiking trail between the railroad embankment and Ziegelsee.

Behind a wooden bridge, popularly known as the Elephant Bridge, turn left through the Wirrwinkel. Now follow the sign for “Jugendherberge” (youth hostel). After about 100 m, turn left and continue straight ahead through a small wooded area and along the B 207.

At the “Elbe-Lübeck Canal,” the path leads under a road bridge into the forest. On the right-hand side, you will pass a weather shelter, and shortly before you leave the forest, you will see the “Alte Ziegelei” landing stage on the left side of the canal.

At the signpost, turn right to the former restaurant “Alte Ziegelei.” Continue along the hiking trail and after about 50 m you will come to a signpost “Zum Voßberg” on the left-hand side of the path.

Here, turn left into the forest, then immediately right again until, after about 200 m, you take the narrow path on the right, down a few steps, and walk along the edge of the forest and meadows of the Pirschbach Valley to the parking lot.

We take the hiking trail to the right until we come to a signpost marked “Ingeborg-Dittmer-Weg.” Now turn right until you reach the forest and follow the path to the fork, where you turn right until you reach the barrier. Now turn left and after about 200 m go through the underpass. Here, walk to the end of the curve along the road and then down a small staircase to the right to Doktorhof. Keep left and walk through the tunnel under the railroad tracks to Doktorhofweg. Walk to the end of this street and then turn right onto Ratzeburger Straße until you reach the bridge.

Keep heading towards the town on the main road and take the second road on the right into Marktstraße across the market square. Here you will find the Eulenspiegel Museum, the historic town hall with museum and tourist information center, St. Nicholas' Church, and the Eulenspiegel fountain.

Now continue straight ahead on Hauptstraße and follow it to your destination, Mölln train station.
