From the cathedral and island town of Ratzeburg, you set off on a 35-kilometre circular tour that connects Mölln and Ratzeburg. The symbol for this tour stands for what Mölln and Ratzeburg are known for: Till Eulenspiegel and the lion. Till is said to have been born in Kneitlingen near Braunschsweig in 1300 and died in Mölln in 1350. His memorial stone at Mölln's Nikolai Church commemorates Germany's most famous jester. Ratzeburg Cathedral - the oldest brick cathedral in northern Germany - was built in the 12th century by Guelph Duke Henry the Lion and is the landmark of the island town of Ratzeburg. Mölln and Ratzeburg themselves, with their historic old towns and many sights, also offer you plenty of opportunities for a varied time. The adjacent lakes of both towns and the many quaint places to stop for refreshments make this tour special.
Worth seeing in Ratzeburg:
- Cathedral and island town of Ratzeburg:
