Well-connected and influential women played an important role in A. Paul Weber’s artistic career. Marianne Karsch (née Waechter) personally supported him and ensured regular, positive press coverage, for example in the Tagesspiegel Berlin. Unlike her husband, Weber’s wife Toni completed her studies at the School of Applied Arts and, during the founding phase of the “West Thuringian Rural School Oberellen,” taught textile studies and managed the attached sewing workshop. Later, A. Paul Weber moved there with their children and was given the opportunity to restore the school’s main building artistically.
