The barge is owned by the town of Geesthacht. The "PIEP" is run by the "Förderkreis der Stadt-Barkasse PIEP" and its task is to represent the town of Geesthacht in a maritime way. This includes guest trips with people who are interested in the "Middle Elbe" region.
