Diversity of nature
Surrounded by forests, fields, meadows and hills, the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park - between Schaalsee and the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, Lübeck and Büchen - is home to around 40 lakes. The diversity of habitats provides a home for numerous fascinating animals. Discover, for example, kingfishers, white-tailed eagles and cranes in the 35 by 17 kilometer area.

In the nature park, we are committed to conserving nature and the landscape. We help to preserve biodiversity. Together with many partners, we shape and develop our region so that future generations can also enjoy a high quality of life and stay for residents and guests.

Hiking trails, observation towers, nature trails and rest areas make our nature park, founded in 1960, a protected area to experience. Whether you prefer to quietly observe nature, seek sporting adventure or take part in cultural-historical excursions, you will get your money's worth in our nature park: hike to your heart's content, cycle or canoe and swim in the refreshing forest lakes.
