Buchhorst forest railroad
The material railroad was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It ran between the match factory past the Dornhorst clay pit through the Buchhorst forest to the harbor on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. A line with a total length of over 5 km. In 1981, the railroad was shut down and rebuilt except for one kilometer in the Buchhorster mountains. At the end of the 1980s, a small group of light railway enthusiasts took over the former match factory railroad. The most beautiful part of the line was lovingly restored and can be used today. Visits and rides are possible by appointment and on certain dates.
