Artist’s house and Gallery Lauenburg

Since its foundation in 1986, the Künstlerhaus (artist’s house) Lauenburg has developed into an important institution for the promotion of art in Schleswig-Holstein and is attracting serious attention both in German-speaking countries and internationally.
Under the umbrella of the Künstlerhaus Lauenburg, two programme lines are linked. The promotion of promising talent from the fields of contemporary visual arts, literature and composition is carried out by the renowned house scholarship programme. The exhibition programme is managed by the associated Stadtgalerie (gallery) Künstlerhaus Lauenburg. Here, an independent programme for contemporary art takes place in the common exhibition space of the Künstlerhaus and Stadtgalerie. The public space of Lauenburg is also regularly used as a venue for exhibitions.
